About this deal
Well I really like writing for The Kid because he’s sort of half-nuts. I can have fun with language and references. Quite a lot of the characters in the books have syndromes but they’re not spelled out, so I have this idea that The Kid has this condition that he remembers every little thing people have said to him. He stores up all these phrases and lines of information in his head and then it all comes spewing out, even if he doesn’t necessarily understand it all. His brain is wired differently. He’s a lot of fun to write, and I can put in references to things I like such as Captain Beefheart songs. History ""I came down to earth with a bump. A bump so big the whole earth shook. Lay there for a long while, just dreaming. Not alone. Not then. Other angels had fallen from the stars with me. Some died--millions upon millions--never got to make friends with anyone. But enough of us lived."" — Wormwood describing the history of the disease; The Sacrifice'
These kids either don't belong to any particular group, mix groups, or have yet to join any. They usually do not remain in one area and are of particular note. Age of Host: The disease's primary hosts are human adults over sixteen years old. Children under fourteen (sixteen in the American release) are unable to be affected by the disease due to not having been alive while the disease was initially spreading to its hosts. For example, Mad Matt was bitten by an infected lunch lady at his school, and did not show any symptoms of the infection. Elderly people are also immune to the disease, as confirmed by The Hunted. Jibber-Jabber - Wiki's best friend, he is also around his age and can't seem to stop talking. He believes that the best place in London to survive in would be the Tower of London, and is also from Rowhurst originally. His real name is Arthur.Well when anyone ever asks me what I do, I always just say I’m a writer. Pretty much everything I’ve ever done has always started with writing. So when I was in a band I was writing songs, I got into TV by being a writer, and over the years if I’ve ever had a clash between a performing job and a writing job I’ve always gone with the writing job. It’s what I enjoy doing most. Callum - A boy who is extremely Agoraphobic, he doesn't like to leave the safety of Waitrose and spends most of his time in the Crow's Nest, where he can watch out over London. He used to listen to ABBA with his mum all the time before the disease. It is told he got the fear of going outside from his mum, who it is said that Callum kills during the initial outbreak. After being killed, Callum's head is put on St George's staff that he carries around. Liam - A small boy around twelve, who is slightly overweight and is the son of Greg. He wears white wire spectacles and is often embarrassed by his dad's argumentative attitude.
The disease has a level of intelligence that is impossible for such a small creature to have. Being an alien organism, we do not know how smart the disease is on its own, but there are some potential explanations. Ponytail - A boy with a wispy growth on his lip, no front teeth and a ponytail, who seems to be Nicola's second-in-command in The Fear. He mentions that he came to Parliament after the fire in south London at the end of The Dead. Ollie - A red haired boy, he is very intelligent and is described as a good shot with his sling shot. He is in charge of ranged fighters known as the Skirmishers. He is fifteen at the end of The Enemy, with his birthday the following day.The kids from the Houses of Parliament mostly vote on things and their leaders and have little fighters, relying mostly on the hunters. It is shown that they rarely leave the confines of the Houses, and they have some knowledge of what lies within the No Go Zone. Daragh - Paddy's older brother who died before any of the books take place because he caught the disease. Paddy used to use his weights.
