I mean... I enjoyed this one more than the first one, probably knowing beforehand that it wasn’t going to be heavy on the mafia and darkness made me like it more. I loved Nessa, and I didn’t like her much to begin with because I hadn’t connected with her in the first book, but she was sweet and strong at the same time, I loved her and how well she connected with tormented Miko, whom I also loved in a weird, I know you’re damaged, way. Nessa Griffin leads a lonely life. Compassionate and gentle, she fills no role in her family’s mafia empire. She struggles to prove herself at home and at her highly-competitive ballet corps. the way miko acted towards nessa was so realistic, no insta love or guilt in the beginning. he was just so emotionless & sophie wrote his character development so well!! it was so interesting to see the "villain's" point of view, how he plotted against her family and literally could’ve destroyed them immediately 😭

Miss Lark done good job bringing the story of Beauty and the Beast to live. I hope the next book also good. Pls Remember that this is a dark romance kidnapping story! The characters in this book are not 100% in the head so keep that in mind while reading this review and reading this book! Nessa is sweet and innocent. She doesn’t deserve any of this. But that’s how our world works - the wolves eat the lambs, no matter how gentle they may be.I find it so weird when authors write any kind of Slavic mafia, repeatedly, but it's still full of stereotypes?? If that's really how you think of Slavic people, maybe you shouldn't be writing about them, just a thought.
