Not only suitable for exterior and garden surfaces, Sadolin Classic All Purpose Woodstain is also an excellent choice for staining interior wood and adding colour to features inside the home. This product can be used on a multitude of different rooms and features, from staining wooden flooring, staircases, and beams through to decorating a home office or upcycling furniture - simply add a protective topcoat of Sadolin Polyurethane Varnish or Sadolin Polyurethane Floor Varnish for a hard-wearing finish. A. It is highly dependant of the amount of wear and location of the area this product has been applied to. In higher traffic areas you may need a yearly maintenance, if you do require a hard wearing surface for interiors we recommend a system of one coat Classic and two coats Sadolin Extra Durable Varnish. For exterior surfaces a system of one coat Classic and two coats Extra Durable Woodstain is recommended for extra protection. Do not apply more than one coat of Classic in these systems as it can cause the top coats to not adhere to the surface.

Hardwoods such as Teak, Ipe, Meranti and Balau must be thoroughly de-greased with methylated spirits prior to applying Sadolin Classic Wood Protection, as they contain a lot of natural oilsAny minor surface defects, imperfections or open joints can be filled with a suitable wood filler prior to coating I used Sadolin Classic on a wooden patio door that had been neglected for several years. After thorough preparation ( sandpapering ) the wood I applied one coat of this Sadolin Classic and 48 hours later I applied a topcoat of Sadolin Extra. Patio door now looks very good.
