About this deal
Thank you so much for your amazing message - that really means a lot to me! I'm so glad you enjoyed reading Varjak Paw. And I hope you enjoy The Outlaw Varjak Paw even more! And thank you so much about the IBBY Honour List! Just to clarify, there are no further stages to it – the list is the thing itself. Each country selects books to go on the list, and Phoenix has been selected for the UK. So it's an amazing honour to see it there!

I'm not Lebanese; I was only born in Lebanon. But I do have Mesopotamian ancestors, and that definitely influenced my story!
I am a Year 5 teacher at Ark Victoria Academy. Next term we will be starting Pheonix in our Reading lessons. We had a brief introduction to the book before half term looking at the front cover and blurb and making some predictions. The children are very eager to start reading it. Unfortunately Interzone is not available online, but if you'd like a print copy , you can get one here. I can still remember how I pictured Varjak and his surroundings in my mind's eye, even so vividly to this day. To me, it was so much more than a story about a cat that did martial arts, and still is. So, thank you for inspiring me, and I'm sure many more kids just like me!

Dear SF Said I am very pleased to hear about the writing of the book Tiger. Hopefully it will be released soon. Also, I'm waiting for the book Phoenix, translate into Russian that I could read it. I was 13 years old when I read the book Varjak paw, I still hope that the third book will be released! I honestly love your book! Will there be a second Phoenix? I know many other people asked you that, but this is a few months later and your answer might have changed. Please answer! It would mean so much to me! I'm kinda shy and stupid and don't really have any friends, just enemies. So talking to you (even just through a computer screen) is amazing! Could you be my sort of friend? Thanks! By the way, also I wanna say thank you for being such a great writer! Your books are the best!
Hi this is Izzie from Whaplode church of england primary school . recently we have whached your amazing trailer for the Phoenix and it looks amazing . I can't wait to start reading it . To Barry - thank you so much for that amazing comment, and please thank Mili for me too! Phoenix took 7 years to write, but things like that make all the hard work worthwhile! And of course there's a whole world of brilliant books by other writers out there for you to discover! Here's a link to a list of my top 10; and here's a link to a blog I made about my own favourite book. Thank you for saying that Tyger sounds great and that you'd like to read it - that means a lot! I honestly don't know when it will be ready to publish, but my agent wants to see something this summer, so hopefully it won't be too much longer. And yes, William Blake's Tyger poem is one of the inspirations. I can't say too much about it, but I did write a blog post about Blake which might have a couple of hints - this is the link if you want to read it. It was also great to meet Isla Dawes of Kew Bookshop, who runs three brilliant bookshops in Kew, Barnes & Sheen, and did a fantastic job at the event; and Melanie Taylor of the wonderful Little Star Writing, who not only ran a creative writing workshop at the school earlier in the day, but also took all these pictures! So many thanks to them, and to everyone I met for making it such a special evening! The final word goes to Sam Allen of Year 4, who left me this amazing comment the next day:
