Any ereader worth its salt puts the book you’re currently reading front and centre, so that 90 per cent of the time you don’t need to look anywhere apart from the home screen and the book you’re reading.The lights are about as problematic as each other. Where the Kindle fires upwards from the bottom of the screen, the Kobo Glo fires downwards from the top, and the light dispersion isn’t completely consistent. While trying to turn my Kobo Glo HD into some sort of all-purpose e-ink PDA, I have come across a great deal of useful resources. This is intended for personal use, but could be useful to more people. I will update this post when finding more interesting things. Lots of wasted space when reading, needs option for fullscreen mode and removal of spaces between paragraphs.

Kobo decided to use a faster 1Ghz processor with the Kobo Glo and that was a good choice because it provides a noticeable speed boost over the Kobo Touch and Kobo Mini. It's not like it's as fast as a tablet of anything, but when you are used to the slower 800 MHz processor it's a noticeable improvement. The Frontlight The Glo has a couple of ports: a Micro-USB connection at the bottom of the device for charging (you get a cable in the box but no AC adapter) and transferring files, and a microSD expansion slot on the left side of the device for adding more memory beyond the 2GB of internal memory (1GB usable for storage).
