About this deal
They're a CD band if anything, they're from that generation, mixed and mastered for. You could argue that there's more dynamically going on from the second album onwards, but Definitely Maybe is an onslaught of sound. To hell with dynamics. Ask Owen Morris / watch the (excellent) doc.
The Damont 1994 pressing is incredible. It helps that this album is so incredible, but the sound of this pressing is so clean and vivid and wonderful. The sonics are right on point and it’s kind of sad how this album has been badly pressed over the years. Performer [Oasis Are] – Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, Tony McCarroll After 29 years of this record changing my life I finally got a copy of this on original 1994 pressing. When I was a kid I bought this on CD—later on I’d bought the anniversary box set with vinyl on it and most recently the Japanese coloured vinyl reissue.
Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but because there is so much speculative discourse on these pressings, I think an audio sample is needed. Here are some samples ripped from my vinyl. I have a Technics Sl-1200mkII with a Nagaoka MP-110 Stylus. I don’t have the original to compare it to, nor am I prepared to pay the current asking price to get a copy. I have never used Audacity before/ ripped from vinyl, so I apologize for any imperfections in the rip (I know at one point there is a muffle sound-- I was adjusting my AUX cable.)
