It was a fun and enjoyable costume project, and I had no idea how well this cosplay would be received by the public. A part of me wondered if people would recognize me as Chun-Li but from the moment I stepped out of my room at Fanime, folks were yelling "Chun-Li" and asking for photos. I personally love that I can use my own hair with this cosplay and not worry about a hot wig at summer cons. It is also surprisingly comfortable and I can do action poses and stay in it for several hours at a time. Cosplay knows no limitations like ethnicity, size, or gender, and this awesome Chun-Li cosplay by Ladybeard is proof of that. "Ladybeard" is the stage persona of Richard Magarey, a stunt actor, pro-wrestler, singer, and idol. Though he's originally from Australia, he's made quite the name for himself in Japan with both his presence in the ring and with his musical style "Kawaiicore," that blends J-pop with hardcore metal.
Her main motivation throughout the games is to bring to justice the killer of her father, M. Bison. Along the way, she fights many villains with the help of her friends and allies, such as Guile, Cammy, and Ryu. Through it all, she has not wavered in her quest for justice. The "ox-horn," hairstyle is the way Chinese children style their hair. The hashtags in her post suggest that her look is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) inspired. This may be to give Chun-Li a modern twist in a sport version.

Elin Kuzunoha is a cosplayer from Japan who cosplays other characters, including Ayane from the Dead or Alive series, and a few original pieces.
